I went on a nature walk/photo shoot on May 12th from 11 am to 1 pm at a nearby lake. I had my Nikon P5000 digital camera with me and my purpose was to capture some nature and get some exercise. I am putting these pictures up for a number of reasons. First, in the sunshine like we had today, my camera takes really good pictures. Seriously, I am a complete photographic amateur and look at how well they turned out. Second, as I was reviewing them after putting them on the computer, it really felt like a journal because I was remembering my walk and all the things I saw. And last, I want to show the contrast between the raw photo and what it looks like after it's been post-processed and loaded up onto deviantART. I think art enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone who appreciates nature might enjoy seeing the before and after.

For the record, the only editing I did on these photos was rotation. I didn't change any colors or sharpen them (which becomes obvious on some of the pictures). I didn't even delete any except for a couple that were deleted on the camera.

Clicking on a thumbnail takes you to a larger version of the photo. If you have troubles seeing any details, sorry about that, I didn't want to upload the 10 megapixel raw photos so I scaled them down.

Keep a watch at my dA gallery for these photos to turn up in the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy. -- Heather (AKA Kaley of AQ)
